Filtration

Atmospheric air contains water vapour, which condenses to water droplets when the compressed air cools. Water in compressed air causes major inconvenience to the user, in Dentistry, laboratories and medical applications the condensation is a breeding ground for bacteria as well as corrosion to instruments. Bacteria are inactive at a pressure dew point below -23 C and corrosion at -30C. By including a Domnick Hunter adsorption dryer which will achieve a dew point of -40, both bacteria and the risk of corrosion is eliminated. For NHS guidelines an additional Bacteria filter is required to comply with HTM2022.

Where a low dew point is not critical and the removal of condensation is required to improve the quality of Air, then a refrigeration dryer is an ideal economical choice. The dew point is traditionally around +3 C and is used in various applications.

With all dryers, a pre filter is required to remove bulk liquid and protect the dryer from particles.
